The season 2 episode " Cartman's Mom Is Still a Dirty Slut" claimed that Cartman's hermaphrodite mother is his father, but the events of "200" and the subsequent episode reveal that this is not the case. An additional subplot includes Cartman learning he may not know the true identity of his father. "200" includes many celebrities that have been mocked in previous episodes, including Cruise, Rob Reiner, Steven Spielberg, Kanye West, Paris Hilton, George Lucas, Mel Gibson and Barbra Streisand. The Muhammad subplot, similar to the one previously featured in the season 10 episode " Cartoon Wars", refers to Comedy Central's past refusal to allow images of Muhammad to be shown on the network in response to the riots and threats generated from controversial cartoons in 20 of Muhammad in European newspapers.

It’s a kind of thing that no live-action show could ever get away with, and while it’s horrific all by itself, Trey Parker and Matt Stone pushed things even further in the episode “201” (Season 14, Episode 6), where it’s revealed that Scott Tenorman is actually Cartman’s half-brother, and that the evil fat boy killed his own father.Īfter 23 seasons, the show doesn’t appear to be slowing its insane train any time soon – and it may result in us feeling the need to update this feature.
Cartman has obviously done some awful, awful things across multiple decades on South Park, but nothing will ever top the time that he orchestrated a plan that saw him murder the parents of his enemy by proxy, grind them up like meat, and then serve them to said enemy.
I imagine that many of you saw the headline of this feature and clicked just to ensure that this moment was on the list and properly recognized for what it is: one of the darkest moments in all of television history.
